Text Box: About housing: Many of our students live OFF-CAMPUS, in apartments near the University (within easy walking distances).  If you wish to live off-campus, one of our staff members can help you to find a suitable apartment when you arrive. You would need to stay your first few nights in a local hotel (contact us for names of hotels) and our staff could help you find some nice place to move in to.
On-campus housing is more convenient, and if you arrive on our listed arrival dates, you can move directly into your residence hall room when you arrive at the airport.
Dormitories fill up quickly. If you want to live on campus, you should apply as soon as you can-- AT LEAST 2-3 months before you arrive!

Food - There are many different places to eat on campus. In addition to cafeterias ("all you can eat"), there are several fast-food options and restaurants, including Wendy's Hamburgers, Pizza, burritos, Starbucks and many others.

Meal Plans - Some campus housing units require that students living there buy a meal plan. In some (apartments) no meal plan is required. The most basic meal plan is a declining balance meal plan, for $970.  (Money will be deducted from the balance at each meal.  Students who have a declining balance meal plan do not have to  pay sales tax (7.5%) and can eat at all dining locations on campus.)
All meal plan information can be found here: https://www.dineoncampus.com/Documents/unccharlotte/Catering/RESGuide.pdf

Please email us and ask any questions you have about housing!
