Text Box:   End of term info It’s hard to believe that we’re already near the end of this summer semester. The teachers and staff all hope that you feel you’ve made good progress in your English. Sometimes when learning a language, students “plateau,” meaning they get to a point where they don’t notice improvement. If you are feeling that, don’t get discouraged….keep at it and you WILL see progress, later.   Wednesday, July 29 at 4:00 (location TBA), we’ll have a departure meeting for all students who will not return to ELTI in the fall semester. If you are going home, if you are going to enter UNCC, if you are going to another university or language program, or even if you are just going to play around and do nothing after this semester, YOU SHOULD COME TO OUR DEPARTURE MEETING. If you even THINK you may not be in ELTI in the fall, you should come to the meeting!!!   Our final class day is August 5. On August 6, we’ll have one last TOEFL at 9:00 a.m. (the next TOEFL will be in early November) On Aug. 6 at 4:00, we’ll have our end-of-session graduation party. Both of the Aug. 6 events will be in the Cone Center in the Lucas Room.   FALL SEMESTER: Orientation and testing for new students  is Aug. 27 and 28 (students who were NOT here in the summer term need to take the tests, also). Schedule pick-up, opening session is Aug. 31. Please make travel plans to BE HERE AUG. 31 if you will be enrolled in the ELTI this fall. Payments for the fall term will be due by Sept. 1. You should plan to make your full payment before classes begin, or pay late payment penalty fees. Fall semester final class day is Dec. 3; TOEFL and final party are Dec. 4.
